Before you place a bid on that bargain, check the price in other online shops
It is not uncommon to hear that someone has purchaced an item at an online auction site only to find that they could have bought it cheaper in thier local high street.
While it is possible to check all the shops in the small town in which I live prior to making a purchase it is still likely that a shop in an adjacent town will be cheaper.
Fortunatly on the internet there are a number of web sites which allow you to compare the price of goods in online shops, including the postage charges and often giving details of availabiltiy, stock levels etc
(These price comparison sites are often supported by the affiliation schemes of the shops whose goods they display, they will usually get a small percentage of the cost of any purchace you make via one of their searches)
