Below are details of problems that eBay users may encounter, which are 'being dealt with'.
- 31/5/2002 Ebay Payments Electronic Check Limit
- If you find you are unable to list new
auction items due to reaching your "Ebay Payments Electronic Check limit" you need to untick the
Billpoint payments checkbox. You will still be able to accept Billpoints payments by sending your
winner an invoice. You may want to add a billpoint logo to your item description from here
Payment Logos.
- 30/5/2002 - Passport Bidding Problem
- Here is eBay's fix for this problem
- First, on any eBay web page, in the top right corner, click on the link that will say either
"Sign In" or "Sign Out".
- Without taking any action on that page, go immediately to this web address:
http://cgi1.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ModifySignInPreferences
- On this page, you will be asked for your eBay ID and Password.
- You will then be taken to the page where you may choose that your eBay User ID and Password be used.
- Make sure the box for 'use eBay sign in' is checked.
- Submit changes.
- 13/5/2002 - Buy it Now
- There are currently problems with the eBay "Buy it Now" auction feature,
it is unclear where the exact problem lies but there are a number of reports of problems
on the discussion boards
- Billpoint Displaying Transactions in Dollars instead of Pounds
- There is a known problem where Billpoint will display a $ Dollar sign rather then a £ Pound. I had this happen on my first Billpoint transaction and can confirm that the correct amount in Pounds was transferred to my bank. It is worth e-mailing wynonna@ebay.com if you experience this problem as it was reportedly going to be resolved in January 2002.
- Feedback Total Incorrect
- Bearing in mind the fact that only feedback from unique users counts towards your final total, if you still think your feedback total is incorrect contact
uksupport@ebay.com
to get it checked / fixed.
- Different Current Prices
- It is not uncommon for the price displayed when you look at the results of a search or a category list to be lower then when you look at the actual item description. The price displayed on the item description page is the correct one. eBay updates the search and category data, from the individual auction item records in sequence, at the busiest times it can take a couple of hours to update all the data.
This is also the reason that newly added auction items take a while before they appear in the searches.
- Search by Seller for Completed Buy it Now Items
- Even though Buy it Now items
are supposed to be included when Searching for a Sellers Completed items they do not appear.
It is unclear why this is happening......
