6 Tips For Better Ebay Results

When eBay first launches many years ago, getting your items noticed was fairly easy. In the beginning there was less competition and as long as your items were desirable and priced right, you would more than often end up making a sale.

Fast forward to 2017 and things are very different. There is a huge amount of competition out there and often if you are new to buying and selling online, you can really struggle to get your listing noticed. There are however a number of things that you can do to stand out from the crowd, so if you want to improve your chances you might want to think about trying one or all of these eBay selling tips.

1. Think carefully about what time your listing will end.

Think about it. If your listing is scheduled to close at three o’clock in the morning, it doesn’t take a rocket scientists to work out that there will be less people up at that time bidding on it. One of the best times to end your auction is Sunday evening around 8pm. A lot of people are at home at that time so you can get more attention and hopefully a better price. Other times to avoid are Saturday afternoons and 9 to 5 working hours.

2. Use HTML mark up

If you are selling high value items, the last thing that you want is for your listing to look cheap. Take some time over it and make the page lay out as attractive as you can. You do not need to be a html expert as eBay have tools which are there to make life easier for you. If you went into a store to buy something and the place was a mess you would probably walk out. The same applies online. Put some effort into making it look great and you will reap the rewards.

3. Image Is Everything

If the photographs of your products aren’t up to scratch then you are fighting a losing battle. Again, take some time over this and take the best, well lit photos that you can. You do not need an expensive camera and a simple smart phone shot will do, but make sure you can clearly see the item, along with any damage if it is second hand.

4. Monitor Your Emails

If someone has a question about your product and you do not reply quickly enough, you are going to lose a potential customer. Make sure that you check regularly and answer promptly. Remember that other people will see your responses too, so make them clear and concise, then hopefully you will not get as many queries.

5. Chose Your Items Wisely

If you are a serious eBayer and are buying products in, just to sell them on eBay, then do your resear5ch beforehand. Is the market for what you are wanting to sell saturated, because if so, you might want to choose something else. Try and think of something unique that no one else is selling at the current time and you will have a lot more success.

6. Use eBay Auction Lister Software

eBay have created a piece of software to help seller who list on a regular basis. If you are selling the same items over and over again, or selling a lot of items each day, you will find that it soon becomes very time consumer. Use the software to try and make the process as quick and easy as possible. It is free of charge and allows you to take control of you online inventory.
